WEEE

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) which came into effect in 2007 aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment by increasing re-use, recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill.

Electrical and electronic equipment contains materials, parts and substances which can be dangerous to the environment, nature and human health if not disposed of correctly, so EEE ending up in landfill can seriously harm the natural environment and contaminate soil and water.

Look for this symbol on your EEE.

There are 10 broad categories outlined in the Directive including household appliances, computer and telephones, electrical/electronic tools, smoke detectors and lighting equipment.

To support this, WED Online offer customers free take back of their WEEE on like for like basis when you buy electrical and electronic items from us.
