The EZ9E12MCU is a 12 way empty metal consumer unit from Schneider Electric's Easy9 range, designed with safety, durability, and installation flexibility in mind. It can be surface or flush mounted. It features a reversible enclosure door, with central fixing points which enable the door to open from top or bottom, providing flexibility and increased installation options, increased cabling space for the ever-increasing demands and circuit ways on a consumer unit, and trouble-free and rounded knockouts, which allow for both conduit or trunking applications, ensuring a neat finish to any job. It features a rigid metal DIN rail that is solid enough to prevent flexing and raised to allow easier cable management. A secure busbar guard is included, which requires a tool for removal to enhance user safety. For additional protection, a new MCB style blanking module has been introduced. This module requires the enclosure cover to be removed before access, providing an extra layer of end user security. Practicality is also a key feature, with the ability to mount the unit either horizontally or vertically. The design incorporates an earthed front cover, a raised busbar shield, and a secure DIN rail. In addition, releasing pressure on the sides helps stop the flow of cable ends, making installation and maintenance safer and more efficient.

Constructed from robust metal, the enclosure offers reliable protection with an IPXXD rating at the top and IP3X when the cover is in place. It also provides IK05 impact resistance in compliance with IEC 62262. Fully meeting the requirements of BS 7671 Amendment 3 and BS EN 61439-3 standards, this consumer unit ensures both performance and compliance with current regulations.
