TecDrive TEC-3-440460-3F4B 22kW Switched Inverter 3 Phase 400V IP66

The TEC-3-440460-3F4B is a 22kW three phase switched inverter for electric motor speed and operation control. It has built in PI control, an internal Category C1 EMC filter and brake chopper. Sensorless vector control supports a range of motor types, while Industrial, Pump and Fan application macros provide preset options for different applications.

The inverter has 14 basic parameters for initial setup, with up to 50 parameters available in total for further adjustment. It uses 5mm rising clamp terminals with captive screws for connection and has a large accessible wiring chamber with a removable gland plate.

Modbus RTU and CANopen are available on-board as standard. Bluetooth connectivity supports commissioning with the Optistick Smart tool, while two RJ45 ports remove the need for a splitter.

This switched TECDrive inverter has an integrated local speed potentiometer and a Run Reverse, Off and Run Forward selector switch. A lockable mains disconnect/isolator is also fitted, allowing the inverter and motor supply to be isolated locally, which can be useful for maintenance and servicing.

The TEC-3-440460-3F4B has an IP66/NEMA 4X rated enclosure and is suitable for direct mounting on processing equipment. The dust tight enclosure protects against dust and contaminants, while the sealed enclosure and corrosion resistant heatsink support use in high pressure washdown applications such as food processing. The enclosure is made from polycarbonate material selected to withstand degradation from UV exposure, greases, oils and acids. The material remains resistant to becoming brittle at temperatures down to -20°C. A flat front on the terminal cover provides mounting points for switches and an internal PCB. The drive operates at temperatures up to 50°C.

This TecDrive inverter comes with a 1 year warranty as standard. The warranty extends to 2 years when the inverter is purchased with a Tec motor.

What Is An Inverter?

An inverter varies the voltage and frequency supplied to an electric motor, allowing the motor speed and operation to be controlled. Also known as a variable speed drive (VSD), an inverter can adjust motor speed to suit applications such as pumps, fans and industrial machinery. Where variable speed operation is suitable, controlling motor speed can reduce energy use, and therefore save money. An inverter can also provide smoother starting and stopping, which can reduce mechanical stress on the motor and driven equipment..

A switched inverter adds convenient local control to the drive.
